Amounts are in South African rand (ZAR). Cash prizes will be paid in ZAR or the equivalent amount in another currency. If international transfer restrictions prevent payment to your bank account, we’ll provide a prize of equivalent value instead.

How to enter

A small working project is enough to take part.

  1. 01 / CREATE

    Start with SerpApi

    Get a SerpApi API key, then use one of the three tools below to add search results to your project.

    Get a SerpApi API key

    No credit card is needed to participate. SerpApi provides 250 free credits each month, which you can use to create and submit your entry.

  2. 02 / SHARE

    Share your code

    Put your code on GitHub, GitLab or another public repository. Include instructions for running it. You can also add a demo or short video.

  3. 03 / SUBMIT

    Submit your project

    Sign in with GitHub and fill in the project form. Submit by 21 October. You can update your entry until then.

Who can take part?

  • PyCon ZA 2026 attendees can enter on their own.
  • You can submit a small working prototype and use AI tools to help you.
  • We’ll judge how useful your project is, whether it works, and how it uses SerpApi.
