Submit by 21 October 2026 at 23:59 SAST (UTC+2). You can edit your entry until the deadline.
- Who can join. You must be a PyCon ZA 2026 attendee and enter on your own. If you win, we’ll check that you attended before confirming your prize.
- What to create. Create an app, AI agent, integration, script or prototype that uses SerpApi for a useful part of what it does. Use the SerpApi Python package, SerpApi MCP server or serpapi-search-tools Python package. These are the only allowed ways to access SerpApi. If you used direct requests to serpapi.com, replace them with the SerpApi Python SDK. You can start a new project or add to an existing one. Tell us what you added.
- What to submit. Share a public code repository with instructions for running your project. Add a short description and explain how you use SerpApi. A demo or video is optional. Sign in with GitHub to submit on this site. You can enter up to 3 projects, as long as each is different.
- Judging and prizes. We’ll judge how useful your project is, whether it works, and how it uses SerpApi. A small working prototype is welcome. Presentation polish won’t affect judging. First prize is R5,000, second is R3,000 and third is R2,000, all in South African rand (ZAR). Cash prizes will be paid in ZAR or the equivalent amount in another currency. If international transfer restrictions prevent payment to a winner’s bank account, we’ll provide a prize of equivalent value instead. We may award fewer prizes if there are not enough eligible entries. We won’t reduce the advertised prize values. We’ll email the winners.
- Keep it fair. Submit your own work. Credit any code you reuse and follow its licence. You can use AI tools, but you’re responsible for the code you submit. Keep API keys and personal data out of public code and demos.
- Be respectful. Follow PyCon ZA’s code of conduct and the terms of any services you use. We may exclude entries involving harassment, plagiarism, harmful projects or misuse of services.
- Event changes. SerpApi may reasonably modify, postpone, suspend or cancel the hackathon in the circumstances described in the terms. We’ll publish material changes on this website and notify affected participants.
By submitting, you agree to these rules and the terms. For help, email adarsh@serpapi.com.
